Abstract
Background: Pingueculitis is inflammation of the pinguecula. Pingueculum is a benign growth in the eyes and it has been associated with occupations such as fire-fighting, mining, butchering, farming, carpentering, commercial motorcycling, sawmilling and welding. It is therefore more common in males than in females. Of note is that no record of makeup artist with pingueculitis has been documented in the past. However, this group of occupation are also prone to having pingueculum because of their constant exposure to dust in the form of multiple powdery substances.
Case: This is a case report of an incidental finding on a makeup artist with the powder being the supposed risk factor for pingueculitis.
Conclusion: This will add to the body of knowledge and more researches need to be carried out on multiple make-up artist in our environment to determine the prevalence of pingueculum among them.
